According to Dr. Jens-Dietrich Mitzlaff, a member of GÖRG management and a banking practitioner based in Frankfurt, Dr. Neumann’s expertise will represent a significant addition to the firm’s resources in the area of banking and securities regulation, adding that reinforcement of the firm’s practice in this area is the logical step to take in view of the increasing regulation of Europe’s financial markets and the anticipated impact of Brexit.Dr. Mitzlaff pointed out that the need of GÖRG’s clients for advice in these areas is constantly increasingand that the firm’s IT and outsourcing practitioners have also recently been witnessing a strong increase in demand for support in the area of banking regulation as well as in connection with payment services. He concluded that Dr. Neumann’s many years of experience as in-house counsel for a bank will therefore represent an important gain for the entire firm.

The head of the Corporate Law Service Line, Dr. Yorick Ruland, also noted that banking and finance law have been become increasingly important for GÖRG over the years and that Dr. Neumann’s experience and expertise in the areas of banking regulation and securities law will represent an important resource that the firm plans to offer on a cross-locational basis, especially for the many clients the firm has in the meantime attracted in the areas of banking and asset management.

Last, but far from least, Dania Neumann says: “I am very excited about the prospect of being able to apply my expertise in the area of banking regulation and securities law with GÖRG,” adding that the cross-locational team has grown and evolved over a period of many years, which of course gives her an ideal opportunity to leverage her experience as in-house counsel in the banking and finance sector to help grow this practice.
