In the area of M&A and PE, he advises on corporate as well as complex real estate transactions. He advises his clients on acquisitions of shareholdings as well as entrepreneurs in succession situations.

In the past, he has also focused on complex carve-out transactions of large corporations as preparation or part of M&A transactions as well as cross-border transformations.
In the area of corporate law, Dr. Markus Söhnchen also advises on disputes between shareholders or joint venture partners. A further focus of Dr. Markus Söhnchen's work is advising on corporate law aspects of company formations, corporate actions, transformations and other structural measures as well as on corporate governance.
Dr. Markus Söhnchen is a partner at GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB. Before joining GÖRG, he worked as a lawyer and partner at two major international law firms in Frankfurt.
After studying law at the Universities of Würzburg and Galway (Ireland), Markus Söhnchen completed his legal clerkship in Bochum, Germany, with stations at commercial law firms in Frankfurt and Milan. He completed his doctorate on a corporate law topic with Prof. Dr. Ulrich Eisenhardt at the Distance-Learning University of Hagen. After his legal clerkship, he worked as a research assistant for Prof. Dr. Thomas Möllers at the Institute for European Legal Systems at the University of Augsburg.
He was admitted to the bar in Frankfurt am Main in 2001.
