GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB, through Cologne-based Dr. Yorick Ruland and Mario Lindner, advised Sparkasse KölnBonn as syndicate on the financing of the development of the "Die Welle" quarter in Cologne-Marienburg by Empira Group, a leading investment manager in the DACH region. Among other things, 750 energy-efficient rental apartments are to be built on the former Deutsche Welle Cologne site. The new quarter will be developed according to high ESG criteria.

The ambitious project development is being debt-financed by a consortium consisting of BayernLB as lead manager, Helaba and Sparkasse KölnBonn. In addition, KfW development loans will be granted. The parties have agreed not to disclose the amount of the financing.
