GÖRG advised real estate developer SEGRO Germany GmbH on the pre-letting of an approximately 86,400 m² logistics centre in SEGRO Park Dortmund to a global online retailer. Construction of the logistics centre is scheduled to commence in spring 2026, with completion currently expected in mid-2027.
SEGRO is a British real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns, manages and develops modern warehouses, industrial properties and data centres in the United Kingdom and seven other European countries.
SEGRO Park Dortmund is being built on the 60-hectare site of a former coal-fired power station between Dortmund and Castrop-Rauxel and will ultimately comprise more than 200,000 m² of warehouse and logistics space. The buildings will be constructed to high sustainability and energy efficiency standards. Plans include green roofs and photovoltaic systems with a capacity of over 10 MW.
A team from GÖRG, led by Frankfurt partner Dr Philipp Naab, provided legal advice to SEGRO on the pre-letting of the logistics centre.
Dr Philipp Naab has been advising SEGRO on the development of SEGRO Park Dortmund for several years. Among other matters, he has advised on the joint venture with the Hagedorn Group for the acquisition and preparation of the site for construction, as well as on negotiations with the cities of Dortmund and Castrop-Rauxel regarding the urban development and development agreements required to obtain building permission.
