GÖRG recruits five partners for the Frankfurt and Munich offices and substantially strengthens in Corporate/M&A/PE and FinTech as well as in Labour Law

Prominent new additions for GÖRG: While Dr. Philipp Grzimek LL.M. will join GÖRG's Munich office from Norton Rose Fulbright, Dr. Alexander Insam, Dr. Martin Hörtz, Dr. Tobias Riethmüller and Dr. Markus Söhnchen will join from GSK Stockmann and strengthen the Frankfurt am Main office with their teams. The addition of a total of eleven legal professionals will especially result in a significant expansion of GÖRG's Corporate/M&A and PE capacities.

Dr. Philipp Grzimek LL.M., Munich

Coming from Norton Rose Fulbright, Dr. Philipp Grzimek LL.M. joins GÖRG's M&A and Private Equity practice in Munich as a partner. His focus is on advising on M&A transactions for companies, financial investors and private entrepreneurs as well as family offices, both in Germany and cross-border. He also advises on joint venture transactions as well as corporate restructurings. Philipp Grzimek will join GÖRG on April 1 2023.

Dr. Alexander Insam and Dr. Martin Hörtz, Frankfurt am Main

As of 1 May 2023, Dr. Alexander Insam, M.A. will move from GSK Stockmann to the Frankfurt office of GÖRG as a partner. The labour and employment law specialist and mediator specialises in the areas of compensation matters for banks, works constitution and collective bargaining law, as well as reconciliations of interests and social plans in insolvency and restructuring.

Together with Alexander Insam, Dr. Martin Hörtz also joins GÖRG from GSK Stockmann as a partner. Martin Hörtz has been a specialist in labour and employment law since 2013 and, like Alexander Insam, specialises in compensation matters for banks and capital management companies. A further focus of his work is compliance advice under employment law, in particular at the interface of employment, supervisory and criminal employment law. The team of the two employment law partners also includes associate Sarah Lahmer.

"Together with Martin Hörtz, he will perfectly round off our comprehensive labour and employment law advisory services in terms of expertise in compensation matters. Both of them, together with their team, will specifically strengthen the market position and banking mandate scope of our labour and employment law team, which now comprises more than 30 professionals."

Dr. Tobias Riethmüller, Frankfurt am Main

Following on GÖRG’s recruitment of Dr. Matthias Terlau, another recognised FinTech specialist, Dr. Tobias Riethmüller, will be joining GÖRG. He will strengthen the firm’s Corporate Finance practice as a Partner at the Frankfurt office. The FinTech expert advises on the interface between capital markets law, banking supervisory law and corporate law, in particular on digital financing platforms and blockchain applications in the financial sector. At the beginning of this year he and a team advised Siemens AG on the issue of an electronic security under the new German Electronic Securities Act (eWpG). At GSK Stockman, Tobias Riethmüller was temporarily responsible for the firm’s digitalisation activities and will also contribute his know-how in this regard to GÖRG's digitalisation and LegalTech projects.

Tobias Riethmüller brings his team of lawyers to GÖRG, consisting of associates Kathrin Müller, Patrick Wambold and Alexander Hofsepjan. This team will also join GÖRG on May 1, 2023.

Dr. Markus Söhnchen, Frankfurt am Main

Dr. Markus Söhnchen joins GÖRG's Frankfurt office as a partner from GSK Stockmann. He focuses on advising on corporate law and M&A as well as on private equity and venture capital, on M&A and corporate-related litigation and arbitration, on joint ventures as well as on contract law and contract drafting. His industry focus is particularly on advising regulated clients in the industrial, healthcare and real estate sectors as well as financial investors and family offices. At GSK Stockmann, Mr. Söhnchen was jointly responsible for the Healthcare practice area in the last years.

Markus Söhnchen brings his team of lawyers to GÖRG. The exact date of the transition has not yet been determined.
