"With the so-called "Company Law Package" in 2018, the EU Commission has initiated a harmonization of cross-border transformation measures (merger, demerger, change of legal form). This EU Directive must be implemented in national law by the EU member states by the end of January 2023. In Germany, the EU Directive will not be implemented on time. However, the German Bundestag has since passed the final government draft on January 20, 2023, and the Bundesrat is expected to approve the amendments in February 2023."
