GÖRG wins real estate lawyer Dr. Stefan Frick for Hamburg office

Hamburg, 01.08.2019

GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB strengthens its partnership with Dr. Stefan Frick effective August 1, 2019. The 38-year-old, who used to work for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Hamburg since 2012, will join GÖRG as an Associated Partner.

His practice focuses on advising national and international investors, project developers, financial institutions and the public sector on all aspects of real estate law, in particular real estate transactions, financing, project development and restructuring as well as the renting and letting of commercial real estate. During his time at Freshfields, he advised Art-Invest Real Estate on the project development "Hammerbrooklyn.DigitalCampus" in Hamburg, Axel Springer on the sale of its Hamburg publishing building to the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the project developer Aurelis Real Estate on the sale of the office buildings "DB Brick" and "DB Tower" in Frankfurt to Warburg-HIH for about EUR 400 million. In addition, he advised the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund on the purchase of the new Axel Springer headquarters in Berlin for EUR 425 million, GARBE on the sale of a German-Dutch logistics real estate portfolio worth approx. EUR 450 million, Morgan Stanley on the sale of the Berliner Tor Center office complex in Hamburg to Zurich Group for around EUR 270 million as well as TPG Real Estate Partners, the real estate platform of US financial investor TPG, on the acquisition of the largest privately managed budget hotel operator A&O from Berlin.

With the addition of Dr. Frick, GÖRG continues to expand its Hamburg real estate practice, for which Dr. Sergio Bińkowski and Dr. Christoph Mönig laid the foundation in 2014. For Bińkowski and Mönig, Frick is no stranger - they have known and appreciated each other since since they worked together in the real estate practice of Freshfields.

Stefan Frick sees the move to GÖRG as an opportunity to integrate his specialist expertise and detailed market knowledge into GÖRG's rising Hamburg real estate law team: "I am delighted to strengthen GÖRG's real estate law team under the leadership of Jan Lindner-Figura and to contribute to GÖRG's dynamic growth.

GÖRG's Hamburg office opened in January 2013 and has grown to 17 partners and 42 professionals since then. Dr. Sergio Bińkowski, real estate partner in GÖRG's Hamburg office, commented on the change: "We are delighted that Stefan Frick joined us. This will give us a colleague who is both professionally and personally outstandingly suited and who will co-determine the further growth of our Hamburg real estate practice".

Dr. Christoph Mönig, also a real estate law partner at GÖRG: "With Stefan Frick we will become even more effective, especially in transactions. This will enable us to further deepen our roots in the local real estate market".
