Domäne Ostsee GmbH has acquired the insolvent MAENNERHOBBY Distillery. The acquisition secures the company’s continued operations. All jobs will be preserved, and the Mönchhagen site is to be further strategically developed. GÖRG partner Dr Mathias Gellert is overseeing the self-administration proceedings as restructuring manager.

Following the conclusion of a structured bidding process, Domäne Ostsee GmbH prevailed with a viable business continuity plan that, in addition to preserving all jobs, specifically provides for the expansion of production capacities.

The acquisition also opens up additional opportunities for business partners: plans include, in particular, an expansion of services in the areas of contract manufacturing, bottling and other B2B services.

“This process demonstrates that viable continuation solutions can be realized even in a challenging market environment — the key is the early alignment of the investor process and the development of a sustainable restructuring concept,” says Dr Mathias Gellert.

In recent years, the MAENNERHOBBY distillery has positioned itself as a provider of premium handcrafted spirits. The distillery’s founder, Martin Neumann, will continue to support the transition in an advisory capacity. Katharina Neumann will remain with the company as an employee.
