GÖRG partner Sebastian Krapohl appointed as provisional insolvency administrator of Hanselmann & Cie. Technologies GmbH

Stuttgart, 04.04.2024

GÖRG partner Sebastian Krapohl, specialised lawyer for insolvency law, has been appointed provisional insolvency administrator of Hanselmann & Cie. On 21 March 2024, the company filed an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings at Ludwigsburg Local Court.

Hanselmann & Cie. Technologies is a specialist for plastics technologies in the injection moulding segment with sites in Oppenweiler and Borsodnádasd (near Eger, Hungary). Its customers include companies from the automotive and mechanical engineering sectors. Hanselmann & Cie. currently employs around 140 people.

"The business operations of Hanselmann & Cie. Technologies GmbH will continue without restrictions despite the court-ordered restructuring proceedings," emphasises restructuring expert and GÖRG lawyer Sebastian Krapohl. Employees' wages and salaries are secured until the end of May 2024 thanks to the insolvency substitute benefits.

"I am currently gaining an initial overview of the situation on the ground so that I can then press ahead with the reorganisation of Hanselmann. Key customers have already promised me their support, and I have already received the first expressions of interest from investors for a takeover of Hanselmann, which would enable the company to continue as a going concern," says Sebastian Krapohl.

The main reason for filing for insolvency is the ongoing crisis in the automotive industry, which has also led to a significant drop in sales at Haselmann in recent years. Turnover has fallen by 30 per cent since the beginning of the year. In addition, price pressure, difficult to plan customer call-offs and rising energy and material costs have put the company in financial difficulties.

The provisional insolvency administrator Sebastian Krapohl will be supported by his Cologne-based colleague and GÖRG partner Alexander Römer, who specialises in insolvency and restructuring law.

The GÖRG team is also being supported by a team from the management consultancy allea consult, which is advising the provisional insolvency administrator on business management and reorganisation issues.
