A successful investor solution has been secured for the insolvent MEZ GmbH, based in Reutlingen. LSL Capital Group, based in Grünwald, and soseco GmbH, based in Stuttgart, have acquired the company by way of an asset deal as part of restructuring. Following the signing of the purchase agreement in early August, all conditions precedent have now been met. The transaction was completed with effect from 1 September 2026. All 86 jobs have been retained.
Insolvency administrator Dr Holger Leichtle, a partner at the commercial law firm GÖRG, continued business operations throughout the proceedings while seeking a long-term solution for the company. Following the acquisition, the sheet metal specialist will continue operations at its Reutlingen-Betzingen and Spraitbach sites. The former main site in Reutlingen-Gönningen will no longer be used. Employees currently based there will be able to continue working at the Reutlingen-Betzingen site.

MEZ GmbH filed for insolvency at the end of February 2026. At that time, the company employed 97 people at its sites in Reutlingen-Gönningen, Reutlingen-Betzingen and Spraitbach. During the insolvency proceedings, the number of employees fell to 86 as result of voluntary resignations
Insolvency administrator Leichtle was supported by his team at GÖRG in maintaining business operations and seeking an investor solution. The M&A process was supported by the allea consult GmbH team led by Timo Petermann and Markus Hehn. The former managing director, Georgia Brielmann, also supported the insolvency administration in this process.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or any further details of the transaction.
