GÖRG provided legal advice to CODE Capital on the design and structuring of the independent early-stage fund. CODE Capital was founded by Stephan Schambach and Younes Ouaqasse. The fund has been set up as an independent investment vehicle within the framework of the Berlin-based CODE University of Applied Sciences.
With a target fund size of ten million euros, CODE Capital focuses on investments in the early pre-seed phase. Initial investments range from €50,000 to €100,000. As a first-check investor, the fund targets technology-oriented founders from the CODE University start-up ecosystem who play a pivotal role in establishing the technological basis of their companies. Key investment areas include AI software, technical infrastructure, deep tech, and quantum-secure encryption.
An independent investment committee prepares investment decisions. Brightpoint Capital Invest GmbH has been appointed to oversee the launch of the fund and its ongoing operations. The fund is managed by Prof. Dr Julia Köhn, Professor of Entrepreneurship at CODE University, who is also a serial founder and investor.
CODE University of Applied Sciences is a private university that specialises in computer science, data science, and cyber security. As the fund’s business hub, it has an extensive network of students, alumni and start-up teams.
