The commercial law firm GÖRG is expanding its management structure and has appointed Dr Arne Gärtner as Director of Strategy & Business Operations with effect from 1 May 2026. In this newly created role, he will help drive the firm’s ongoing professionalisation and, as a member of the extended management team, will work closely with the Executive Committee (Geschäftsführender Ausschuss, GFA).
The aim is to involve Dr Arne Gärtner in strategic management and the coordination of key topics, and to establish this expanded management approach within the firm. As part of the firm’s continued development, the role is intended to be further strengthened.
By expanding the management team, GÖRG is responding to the increasing demands on modern law firm structures in order to position the firm for the future. Dr Arne Gärtner will also play a central role in evaluating and strategically developing the impact of artificial intelligence on the firm’s business model, ways of working and pricing.
Dr Arne Gärtner joins GÖRG from Linklaters. In his previous roles, he held senior positions and was responsible in particular for transformation projects, the further development of business processes and strategic initiatives at national and international level. Furthermore, during his time at the Bucerius Center on the Legal Profession, he has engaged intensively with the future of law firm structures, business models and the transformation of the legal market.
Dr Christian Wolf, Managing Partner of GÖRG: “By creating this role, we are taking an important step in the further development of our firm, and we are convinced that Arne Gärtner is the right person for this project. The use of artificial intelligence will rapidly and fundamentally transform our business model in the coming years. This makes it all the more important to develop the right structures, processes and technologies today so that we can continue to provide our clients with efficient, high-quality and innovative advice in the future.”
Dr Arne Gärtner: “In recent years, GÖRG has already taken a number of strategic steps towards a sustainable and modern firm structure. I look forward to build on this and to continue this path together with the Executive Committee in a consistent and focused manner.”
