GÖRG advises Bayern Kapital on investment in ewigbyte

Munich, 27.02.2026

GÖRG advised co-lead investor Bayern Kapital in a financing round for Munich-based start-up ewigbyte. The round was jointly led by Bayern Kapital and Vanagon Ventures, with participation from additional business angels from the BayStartUP investor network.

Founded in 2025 by Dr Steffen Klewitz, Dr Ina von Haeften and Phil Wittwer, the Munich-based deep tech start-up specialises in long-term, energy-efficient and secure data storage. Using an innovative technology, digital data is physically written into recyclable glass with a special laser, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional data storage methods. The company focuses in particular on the long-term storage of ‘cold data’ and addresses growing demands for digital sovereignty and data security.

The new funding will enable ewigbyte to develop the first industrial write-store-read prototype, accelerate pilot collaborations and transition from laboratory validation to industrial implementation.

A GÖRG team led by Munich partner Sebastian Frech provided legal advice to Bayern Kapital.
