The renowned lawyer Dr. Timm Theilmann (43) will join GÖRG’s Berlin office as Salary Partner on 1 July 2020. After leaving the Berlin tech law firm Hyazinth, of which he was a founding partner, he initially moved into the legal tech industry and worked for TPR Legal, a hybrid of law firm and IT/consulting company, in Frankfurt/Main. He held the position of Manager Legal Projects with the focus on the development of the use of legal analytics, especially data extraction in the area of contract management, transactions and mass litigation.
Dr. Theilmann has profound knowledge and experience in corporate finance with a special focus on digital technology companies.
Among other things, he advised Horizons Venture on the record financing of the Fintech company N26 and Delivery Hero on extensive syndicated financing.
The new addition will expand GÖRG's finance practice in Berlin, but also across other locations. Dr. Yorick Ruland, Head of Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, commented: "We are very pleased about the new addition. With Timm Theilmann, we will be able to expand our advisory services for up-and-coming technology companies even more credibly into the areas of M&A and corporate finance".
Dr. Roland Hoffmann-Theinert, Corporate Finance Partner in the Berlin office: "With the increasing digitalisation and mechanisation of traditional banking transactions, our consulting focus is also changing. The banking business can no longer survive without access to modern technology companies. This also has consequences for us legal service providers. With Timm Theilmann, Matthias Terlau is joined by another colleague at GÖRG with a special focus on digitization. We see ourselves well equipped to better meet future challenges in the market".
Dr. Theilmann is also looking forward joining GÖRG: "I am looking forward to supporting our clients in the legal implementation of digitization together with a large and professional team. GÖRG's firm anchoring in the currently particularly challenging German SME sector and the integrated consulting approach of GÖRG offer an excellent platform, because digitization affects all areas of a company".
With the arrival of Dr. Theilmann at GÖRG, the law firm's Banking & Finance, Capital Markets practice will grow to over 26 lawyers, including 12 partners.
