Dr Jan Baumann advises national and international companies on all aspects of IT law, outsourcing and data protection. In particular, he has considerable experience in advising on software projects and data protection. In the field of data protection, Dr Baumann primarily advises international companies on German and European data protection law and the challenges it poses to international companies.
A further focus of his practice is on out-of-court and court representation in IT and commercial law disputes and advice on international legal disputes.
His industry focus lies in the areas of IT and telecommunications, trade and services as well as industrials.

After studying law and obtaining his doctorate in computer criminal law under Prof. Bernd Heinrich at the Humboldt University in Berlin, he completed his legal clerkship in Berlin, where he was trained in media and copyright law as well as press law. He was admitted to the bar in 2015.
Dr Jan Baumann successfully completed the specialist courses for information technology law and international business law.
