Dr. Volker Baas and his team advise national and international institutions and financial services companies on matters such as the structuring of investment funds under the German Investment Code (KAGB) as well as on licensing, registration and notification procedures under the German Banking Act and the new German Securities Institutions Act. He also has specialised expertise in stock exchange law.
In addition, Dr. Volker Baas is a Director on the Global Board of HAA, Harvard University, Cambridge, (Mass.), USA and a member of the German-American Lawyers Association.
Dr. Volker Baas has published several books and numerous articles and treatises on banking and capital markets law.
Career
Dr. Volker Baas is Of Counsel at GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB. Before joining GÖRG, he worked as a lawyer and equity partner at national and international commercial law firms in Frankfurt and Boston (USA) and in various management positions at a major German bank.
He studied law and political science at Goethe University in Frankfurt and Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, (USA) as well as at INSEAD in Fontainebleau. He was admitted to the bar in 1983.
