Jannis Sokianos advises national and international companies on matters of energy and tax law. He focusses on energy supply, including drafting of power purchase agreements as well as all questions regarding excise taxation of energy products and electricity. He also provides advice concerning adjacent regulatory fields, such as European state aid law and renewable energy generation.
He has acquired substantial experience regarding the optimization of excise tax duties, including enforcement of these claims before the federal customs authorities and the fiscal courts.
Within the field of public commercial law, he focusses on permits or approval issues for water, waste water and immission control for industrial sites.
Jannis Sokianos is an associate at GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB. Before joining GÖRG he worked as an attorney for a law firm with a focus on energy and infrastructure law in Berlin.
After studying law at the University of Hamburg and the Free University of Berlin, he completed his legal training with clerkships at the federal customs authority and a major international law firm in Berlin.
Jannis Sokianos was admitted to the bar in November 2017.
