Expertise

Katharina Fielenbach works in public commercial law, and has particular expertise and experience in environmental protection and nature conservancy. This expertise is particularly significant in large projects such as power plants and large-scale industrial projects, and their planning. In addition, she has expertise in immission control law, nature conservancy and species protection law in the context of advising on renewable energy projects (particularly wind and solar energy).

Her main areas of practice in public commercial law include assisting in the approval and planning procedures for major plant construction and infrastructure projects in the energy sector, in particular for large-scale power plants, offshore and onshore wind farms, pumped storage power plants, power lines, legal advice, structuring and negotiation of energy generation projects, M&A transactions in the energy sector, the examination and structuring of expert opinions, in particular in nature and species protection law, as well as conducting administrative court proceedings.

In procurement law, her focus is on advising in the structuring and support of procurement procedures, drafting and submitting of tender documents on the respective platforms, managing bidder communication, and representation in review proceedings. Katharina Fielenbach and the procurement team also work as an external awarding agency for public-sector clients. 

Career

Katharina Fielenbach was admitted to the bar in 2007 and has been a lawyer at GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB since July 2007.

She was named counsel in 2019.

Katharina Fielenbach studied law at universities in Jena, Lerida (Spain) and Cologne. Before joining GÖRG, she completed her legal training in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, and worked as a research assistant and clerk in public and environmental law at an international corporate law firm in Cologne.
