GÖRG has supported the successful acquisition of DUROtherm Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH by the swissplast group as part of the self-administered restructuring process. Upon closing of the transaction, DUROtherm’s key assets and business activities were acquired and are being continued in a successor company. The Haiterbach and Lindlar sites will remain in operation. In addition, existing customer relationships will be maintained, and the majority of jobs will be secured. Business operations will continue without interruption.
DUROtherm Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH had filed an application for insolvency proceedings under self-administration at the beginning of February 2026. GÖRG supported the proceedings with Holger Rhode and Dr Raul Taras acting as Chief Insolvency Officer (CIO), and Sebastian Krapohl as General Representative. The self-administered insolvency was supported by Frederik Wittop, a partner at the management consultancy Montag & Montag, who served as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO). Martin Mucha of GRUB BRUGGER was appointed as Provisional Administrator.

DUROtherm Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH manufactures technical thermoformed and plastic components for various industrial applications. The company employs approximately 166 people, the DUROtherm Group employs a total of approximately 400 people.
The swissplast group is an owner-managed group of companies with production sites in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, and is one of the leading thermoforming companies in the German-speaking world. The acquisition is intended to further drive the development of the Haiterbach and Lindlar sites.
