GÖRG is once again fulfilling its social responsibility this Christmas: with a donation of €10,000, the law firm is supporting the ‘Lilith Frauenhaus’ (women’s shelter) and the ‘17-Ost Tagestreff für Frauen’ (day centre for women), both organised by the Diakonisches Werk in Frankfurt and Offenbach.
With these donations, GÖRG supports the work of two institutions in the Frankfurt region that offer women in acute emergencies protection, refuge and comprehensive support:
The ‘Lilith Frauenhaus’ is a transitional residence for women aged 18 and over who find themselves in crisis or emergency situations. Residents live in small group units. In addition to safe accommodation, Lilith offers social-educational support, help in securing long term housing and psychosocial counselling. The objective is to stabilise women and enable them to lead independent, self-determined lives.
GÖRG also supports the ‘17-Ost Tagestreff’, a drop-in centre for women facing difficult life and housing situations. The centre offers a safe space where visitors can rest, connect with others and receive practical support. Facilities include an open café area, showers, laundry facilities, lockers and a study with internet access. In addition, educational and prevention services is offered.
GÖRG's Christmas donation tradition: Every year, employees from one of the firm's five offices take turns selecting social projects to receive a major Christmas donation from the partnership.
This year, Frankfurt is the first location to be featured. The selection of projects was coordinated by the local team consisting of Patrick Wambold and Natalie Kübler. Together with Alexander Pustal, they presented the donations at a personal encounter in December to Shiva Shafahi, head of the women's shelter, and Sarah Krämer, fundraising and foundation management.
Dr Marcus Richter, Managing Partner at GÖRG, said: "With our Christmas donation this year, we are supporting two organisations that offer women in challenging life situations protection, guidance and new perspectives. Both the ‘Lilith’ Frauenhaus’ and the ‘17-Ost Tagestreff’ offer essential support, which is not always easy and often goes unseen. They help women in acute emergencies and open up paths toward greaterstability and confidence. We hope that our donation will make a difference for the women affected, and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved in these two projects.”
