On 20 October 2026, Ravensburg Local Court ordered provisional insolvency proceedings in self-administration for VOLLMER WERKE Maschinenfabrik GmbH in Germany. VOLLMER WERKE, a long-established family-run business based in Biberach an der Riß, has been active for over 100 years in the development and manufacture of sharpening, grinding and EDM machines, laser processing machines and automation solutions for the wood and metalworking industries.
The management of VOLLMER WERKE is being advised by Dr Holger Leichtle, an experienced GÖRG partner and restructuring expert. Dr Danko, a lawyer specialising in insolvency and restructuring law, has been appointed as provisional insolvency administrator. The company is continuing its business operations without restriction; wages and salaries are secured for three months through the insolvency benefit provided by the Employment Agency. Customers and business partners can continue to contact their usual points of contact.
The decision to apply for insolvency proceedings in self-administration was necessary in order to stabilise the company’s financial situation and realign the business for the future. The current market situation is characterised by a generally difficult economic climate and a reluctance on the part of customers to invest. VOLLMER WERKE is continuing to expand its global sales network and is also developing new products.
The subsidiaries of VOLLMER WERKE are not affected by the insolvency proceedings in self-administration and are continuing their business operations without restriction.
“Our shared aim is to implement the necessary measures swiftly and rigorously,” explains the Group’s management.
VOLLMER WERKE Maschinenfabrik GmbH, based in Biberach an der Riß, is a family-run company specialising in the development and manufacture of machines for machining band saws, circular saws and rotary tools. The shared aim of all parties involved is to preserve VOLLMER WERKE in the long term as a long-established and internationally active specialist in tool machining centres, and to create an economically viable foundation for the future. The commitment of the workforce, as well as the trust and support of customers and business partners, are key prerequisites for the intended continuation of the company.
The company will provide updates on the further developments in the proceedings as soon as new information becomes available.
