GÖRG provided legal advice to ENOVA Value GmbH on the sale of project rights for several wind energy sites in the Hochsauerland district to VERBUND Green Power Deutschland GmbH.
The project comprises a portfolio with a potential total output of up to 140 megawatts. VERBUND will continue the existing project structures and assume all contractual obligations from the previous development phase. This will ensure continuous planning and implementation as well as a long-term secure and sustainable energy supply in the region.
With this transaction, ENOVA is continuing its strategic orientation. The company is increasingly focusing on its core business, in particular repowering projects for existing wind farms and the development of new sites in the Weser-Ems region, known as ‘ENOVA country’.
VERBUND plans to start construction of the plants in 2027. Applications for approval under the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) have already been submitted for three of the five projects. The approval procedures will be continued jointly by ENOVA and VERBUND to enable rapid implementation.
GÖRG provided ENOVA with comprehensive legal advice on the transaction. In particular, Dr Ruth Büchl-Winter advised on the drafting and negotiation of the purchase and transfer agreement. Dr Ilka Mainz and Niklas Fietz advised ENOVA on issues relating to the project development of the wind farm sites.
GÖRG regularly advises investors, operators and project developers on the acquisition, sale and implementation of energy generation plants in the fields of wind, solar and storage technologies.
With a portfolio of over 900 MW, ENOVA is one of the largest operators of onshore wind farms in Germany and currently supplies around one million households with green electricity. The family-owned company develops wind farms, invests in existing plants and, as an independent specialist for wind turbines, is responsible for the maintenance and servicing of hundreds of wind turbines throughout Germany.
VERBUND AG is Austria's leading energy company. The company is continuously expanding its activities in the wind and solar sectors in Germany and is committed to long-term investments in a secure and sustainable energy supply.
