Led by Munich-based partner Sebastian Frech, GÖRG provided legal advice to energy tech company Reverion on its US$175 million Series B funding round.
The round was led by Kembara, the European growth fund for deep-tech and climate technologies. Alongside existing investors, new participants included Allianz, KfW Capital, Aurum Impact and Carbon Equity. Existing investors Extantia, Energy Impact Partners, UVC Partners, the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund), Alfa8 and Possible Ventures also invested.
Reverion builds reversible fuel cell power plants that generate electricity from gas, enable flexible energy storage through reversibility and can operate carbon-negative when biogas is used. The company intends to use the capital raised to scale up industrial series production and establish a new production site in Germany with an annual manufacturing capacity of 250 megawatts, creating up to 800 jobs.
This successful Series B round marks the next stage in Reverion's development, transitioning from a deep-tech start-up to an internationally scaling technology company. The funding is intended to enable large-scale industrial production and expansion into further markets. Demand for the technology is growing, particularly from energy-intensive industries and data centres.
Reverion received comprehensive legal advice during the funding round from a GÖRG team led by Sebastian Frech, a partner based in Munich.

In addition to financing matters, the GÖRG team advises the Technical University of Munich spin-off on a range of contractual and operational issues, particularly regarding supplier and customer contracts.
