Dr. Achim Compes is a partner in the Cologne office of GÖRG. He has extensive expertise in the energy sector.

He specialises in project developments and M&A transactions, as well as the structuring and monitoring of complex investment projects (offshore/onshore wind farms, conventional power plants and generation projects). In particular, he advises and assists joint venture agreements, EPC contracts, energy supplier contracts, corporate procurement contracts and participation agreements.

In this function he conducts both judicial and extra-judicial litigation.

Dr. Achim Compes advises both national and foreign investors, as well as the public sector and municipal companies (public utilities).

Dr. Achim Compes is a partner at GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB and has been head of the Infrastructure, Environment, Energy Department .

Before joining GÖRG, he worked as a lawyer at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne for more than 10 years.

After his studies at universities in Cologne and Marburg, Dr Achim Compes completed his legal training in Cologne. During this period, he gained his doctorate in law from the University of Cologne under Prof Schiedermaier.

He was admitted to the bar in 1990.
