GÖRG provided legal support to the insolvency administrator of automotive supplier Gerhardi Kunststofftechnik GmbH (Gerhardi) during the sale process. With the transaction to HF Opportunities GmbH now complete, business operations have largely been maintained and the future of around 960 jobs secured.
The long-established automotive supplier Gerhardi will continue to operate under the umbrella of HF Opportunities GmbH, a unit of the Hannover Finanz Group, which will ensure the long-term survival of the company at its three locations in Lüdenscheid, Rosmart and Ibbenbüren.
The sale process was supported by a team led by GÖRG partners Dr Christoph Janssen and Christopher Schiller, who provided legal advice to the insolvency administrator Dr Jan-Philipp Hoos (White & Case) during the sale process and provided comprehensive support for the transaction.
Gerhardi is one of the leading development partners for galvanised and technically sophisticated plastic components for vehicle interiors and exteriors. With the takeover by HF Opportunities GmbH, the company will be integrated into a new platform for plastics and surface technologies, which in future will, among other things, tap into synergies with the Baden-Württemberg-based supplier freeglass.
