GÖRG has advised the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) on the reorganisation of its regional marketing, in particular on the sale of its stake in Rhein-Main Media GmbH (RMM) and on the conclusion of a new marketing agreement with Pressehaus Bintz-Verlag (PBV), which belongs to the Ippen Group.
As a joint venture between F.A.Z. and Frankfurter Societäts-Medien GmbH (FSM) – which, like PBV, is part of the Ippen Group – RMM has so far been responsible for marketing the Rhein-Main edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as well as the Frankfurter Neue Presse and the Frankfurter Rundschau.
F.A.Z. has now sold its 25.1 percent stake in RMM to FSM, which will thus become the sole shareholder as of 1 January 2026. In the course of this transaction, regional marketing was also restructured with effect from 1 January 2026. In addition to its own titles, Offenbach Post and Hanauer Anzeiger, PBV will in future, under the marketing brand Rhein.Main.Media, take over the marketing mandate for the Rhein-Main edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and for the other titles previously marketed by RMM.
A GÖRG team, led by Frankfurt partner Dr Matthias Menke, advised F.A.Z. on the overall transaction, in particular on the sale of its shareholding and the conclusion of the marketing agreement.
GÖRG has been advising the F.A.Z. media group for many years in various areas of law.
