GÖRG has advised Ampega Asset Management GmbH, a Cologne-based subsidiary of Talanx AG, on the acquisition of a logistics site in Cologne-Marsdorf on behalf of an affiliated group company. The seller is Bauwens Development. The property will be occupied by DHL Express Germany.
A modern operational site for the international express service provider has been developed on the approximately 26,000-square-metre plot. The new building comprises around 5,500 square metres of production and office space. At the heart of the facility is a high-performance sorting system with a sorting capacity of up to 6,000 shipments per hour, complemented by three pick-up and delivery fingers with direct access for the delivery fleet. The building is being constructed to high sustainability standards and is equipped with a heat pump, a photovoltaic system and a green roof featuring biodiversity modules, among other features. Bauwens Development is also aiming for DGNB Gold certification and compliance with the requirements of the EU Taxonomy.
Legal advice to Ampega was provided by GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten, led by Cologne-based partner Dr Markus Heider and Cologne-based counsel Katharina Meeser. Ampega was also advised by Orange Recon (technical due diligence) and TheGreenBlue (ESG due diligence). RSM Ebner Stolz provided legal advice to the seller on the transaction.
