Encavis AG acquires 18-MW wind farm in Lower Saxony with GÖRG

Cologne, 19.09.2024

GÖRG has advised the MDAX-listed Encavis AG on the purchase of a wind farm with a planned generation capacity of 18 megawatts (MW) in the Bad Gandersheim district of Dannhausen (Lower Saxony). The project was sold to SWW - Neue Energien GmbH.

The wind farm will consist of three Vestas V150 wind turbines, each with a rated output of 6 MW. Once completed, a total of around 42 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity will be generated annually. Sowitec Operations GmbH has been commissioned to begin constructing the wind turbines in a few weeks. The wind farm is expected to be connected to the grid in early 2026.

The wind farm was acquired as part of a share deal. A GÖRG team led by partner Thoralf Herbold structured the purchase process for Encavis and advised on all legal matters relating to the successful transaction. In addition to expertise in energy industry law, the advice also covered corporate law aspects and the structuring, negotiation and finalisation of a project development contract and a general contractor agreement.

The GÖRG team specialises in providing comprehensive advice on the project development of energy generation and storage facilities and has recently advised Encavis, among other things, on the acquisition of a wind farm in the municipality of Desloch.

GÖRG regularly provides legal advice to operators of solar and wind energy parks on the acquisition and sale of plants, as well as to project developers on the realisation of energy generation and storage plants.
