GÖRG has advised the leading EMS and E²MS provider Turck duotec GmbH with regard to its investment in the Dresden based deep tech start-up SmartNanotubes Technologies GmbH.
Initially funded by Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen and Technische Universität Dresden, SmartNanotubes has developed a smell sensor based on nano materials. As the first multi-channel gas detector chip it is not only smaller but also much more sensive and energy efficient than any existing solution.
Together, SmartNanotubes and Turck duotec are developing a „digital nose“ which will grant machines and appliances a sense of smell for the first time. Potential applications of the technology are numerous and range from food processing and medical diagnostic to building technology, smart home solutions and security.
For Turck duotec the investment in SmartNanotubes as an innovative and disruptive future technology is another step in strategically broadening its portfolio.
