Dr Michael Nienerza advises national and international companies in the areas of insolvency law and restructuring. His clients include companies and investors of all sizes, from a broad range of industries. Dr Nienerza also provides advice in connection with complex financing structures, in particular real estate portfolios.
Dr Michael Nienerza has been advising his clients on restructuring and insolvency since 2003. He regularly advises board members, directors, supervisory boards and other decision-makers with personal responsibility. Thanks to his many years of experience in crisis situations, he understands the opportunities and risks associated with restructuring and insolvency. This includes negotiations with the various stakeholders, including, for example, suppliers, customers, employees, employee organisations, unions and communities.
Dr Nienerza and his team provide their clients with comprehensive resources, in order to also be able to provide excellent advice to large clients. This includes, for example, a broad range of company restructuring and bond restructuring. In addition, Dr Nienerza works closely with our insolvency administrators, also managing self-administration and insolvency protection proceedings.
In recent yeas, Dr Nienerza has dealt with restructuring and insolvency in various sectors, in cases that are often international in nature. He focuses on commercial enterprises, automotive suppliers and the health industry.
In addition, Dr Nienerza and his team advise on restructuring structured financing, in particular for large real estate portfolios.
Dr Michael Nienerza studied at the University of Cologne and completed his legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne.
He has worked at a lawyer with our firm since 2003. He obtained his doctorate at the University of Cologne under Prof Dr Henssler in 2005. In 2007, Dr Nienerza transferred to Munich and founded our office there.
He has been a partner here since 2009.
