GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB advised Bluegem III, an investment fund advised by Bluegem Capital Partners Ltd, on the acquisition of a stake in the Petromax Group. A cross-location GÖRG team under the lead management of Cologne partner Dr. Andrea Zimmermann successfully assisted Bluegem in the investment in Petromax by providing legal advice on the M&A and management investment track.

The Petromax Group, headquartered in Magdeburg, Germany, is known for a wide product assortment of high-quality outdoor lifestyle equipment. Established in 2005, the group consists of the two traditional brands Petromax, founded in 1910, and Feuerhand, founded in 1893. With the help of the investment by Bluegem, a pan-European private equity firm, the business of the outdoor hobby supplier is to be further scaled and the leading market position expanded. The two current co-CEOs and founders of the group will reinvest in the company and continue its expansion in the coming years.

Petromax Group is the fifth investment made by Bluegem's third generation fund, which held its final close in February this year and is invested in a diversified portfolio of different consumer sub-sectors. In its investments across Europe, Bluegem works with management teams and founders to accelerate the growth of strong consumer brands.
