Following his degree in law at the University of Hamburg, Bucerius Law School and Cornell University (USA), Dr Karl-Friedrich Curtze completed his legal training in Hamburg with a clerkship in Lima (Peru). He then gained a doctorate in law from the University of Hamburg, mentored by Prof. Reinhard Bork, with a thesis on an insolvency law matter.
He was admitted to the bar in 2015.
